Faraway from the Bhojpur district Headquarters, this gaunpalika has its own religious, social, political and cultural significance. With six wards under it, this rural municipality is extended within the area of 193 square kilo meter. The terrain is rugged and hilly. Shadananda Municipality lies in the south of this gaunpalika while Khotang district, Sankhuwasabha district and Solukhumbu district share their boarder in west, east and north with this rural municipality respectively.
The total population of this gaunpalika is 13,111 including, 6,265 men and 6,846 women. The settlement is mixed as the dwellers of this rural municipality represent varied caste, ethnicity and religion.
