Tribeni rural municipality is located in the eastern part of the Salyan district. In 2073 BS, adjoining areas of  Kavra, Karagithi, Phalawang and Tribeni, were combined in Tribeni rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 119.11 square Kilometers and is divided into 6 wards. Kapurkot rural municipality lies in the east of Tribeni rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Kalimati rural municipality in the west, Sarada municipality and Chhatradev rural municipality in the north and Dang district in the south. The geography of this rural municipality is steep slopes with high mountain and cold weather. Tribeni rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 16624 consisting male population 7726 and female population of 8898 according to the national population census of Nepal 2011. There are 3447 households in Tribeni rural municipality.

The name of this rural municipality is based considering the combination of Sharada, Luham&GhurKhola. Dangi, Gharti, Magar, Bista, Bahun, Chhetri, Dalit, Janajatietc reside in this rural municipality and celebrates Dashain, Tihar, Magheshakranti, Ramnawami, Baishakepurnima, Janaipurnima, Teej, Holi, Loshar etc. festivals in a friendly manner.

Mr. Man Bahadur Dangi and Mrs. Karuna Khadka are the chairman and vice chairman of the Tribeni rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Luham, Salyan.
