Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality is situated at south-east part of Saptari district, province number two. This Rural Municipality was established 2073 B.S. by combining then Tilathi, Louniya, Babhanagamakatti, Sakarpura, Koiladi and Madhyapura Village Development Committees. This local unit is surrounded by Hamuman Nagar Kankalni Rural Municipality and Koshi River from east, Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality from west, Mahadeva Rural Municipality and Rajbiraj and Hanuman Nagar Kankalini Municipalities from north and Indian border from south. This was named two villages Tilathi and Koiladi. This area lies at the bank of Koshi River. This unit has been categorized into eight wards. It includes plain land with hot weather.
