Tila rural municipality is situated in the southern part of the Jumla district. Existing VDCs such as Ghodhemahadev, Malikathata, Kudari and Raralihi, were combined in Tila rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 175.49 square Kilometers and is divided into 9 wards. Tatopani rural municipality lies in the east of Tila rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Hima rural municipality in the west, Chandranath municipality in the north and Kalikot district in the south. The geography of this rural municipality is steep slopes with high mountain and cold weather. Tila rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 13607 consisting male population 6866 and female population of 6741 as of Census of Nepal 2011. There are 2250 households in Tila rural municipality.
Yogi, Budha, Basnet, Brahmin, Chhetri, Dalit, Janajatietc reside in this rural municipality and celebrates Dashain, Tihar, Magheshakranti, Ramnawami, Baishakepurnima, Janaipurnima, Teej, Holi, Loshar etc. festivals in a friendly manner. Majority of people speak nepali language. All the residential of this rural municipality are engaged in agriculture & livestock farming too. The atmosphere & climate of this rural municipality is healthy & good.
Mr. Ratan Nath Yogi and Mrs. Bishnu Budha are the chairman and vice chairman of the Tila rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Dhundheli, Jumla.
