Sunkoshi rural municipality situates Southern part of the Sindhupalchowk district. Sunkoshi rural municipality was formed by combining then Thokarpa, Kalika, Thumpakhar, Sunkhani, Yamunadanda, and Pangretar VDCs. The Rural municipality has total area of 72.84 square kilo meter and is divided into 7 wards. Lisankhupakhar rural municipality lies in the east of Sunkoshi rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Chautara Sangha Chowk Gadhi rural municipality in the west, Balefi rural municipality in the north and Kavreplanchowk district in the south. The geography of this Rural municipality includes naturally decorated high hills mountains, and cold weather. Sunkoshi rural municipality has the total population of 17246 consisting male population 7883 and female population of 9363 as of Census of Nepal 2011.
