The geographical area of Sunkoshi (Earlier) Limchungbung (now) Rural Municipality is 106.8 sq km. It has a population of 11992 according to census 2011. This rural municipality has five wards. It was formed by merging five former VDCs. The headquarter of this municipality is situated in Baraha.
People living here are ethnically and culturally mixed and are in harmony. Young working age population are mostly in foreign employment like other parts of the country. Some are in cities of Nepal for employment opportunity and business. Rest of the people who lives here continuously are into agriculture, local business and daily wage work for livelihood.
The Chairperson and Vice chairperson this rural municipality are Mejar Kumar Rai and Ramila Rai respectively.
