Suddhodhan rural municipality is located in the northern part of the Rupandehi district. VDCs such as Khadwa bangai, Manpakadi, saurhawa pharshatikat and Manmateriya, were combined in Suddhodhan rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 57.65square kilometers and is divided into 7 wards. Butwal sub-metropolitan city and Tilottama municipality lies in the east of Suddhodhan rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Kanchan and Gaidahawa rural municipality in the west, Butwal sub-mrtropolitan and Sainamaian rural municipality in the north and Mayadevi rural municipality in the south. The geography of this rural municipality includes plan fertile land. Suddhodhan rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 45201 consisting male population 22733 and female population of 22468 according to the National Population Census of Nepal 2011. There are 6346 households in Suddhodhan rural municipality.
The name of this rural municipality is based upon the name of Lord Gautam Buddha’s father Suddhodhan. In this rural municipality there are also government schools, community schools and madarsa. Paddy, Wheat, Corn, Seasonal Vegetables, various fruits can grow in this rural municipality. And people of this rural municipality are also engaged in livestock business also. The major castes residing in this rural municipality are Yadav, Tharu, Brahaman, Chhetri, Lodha, Kurmi, Harijan, Muslims etc. Similarly, Dashain, Tihar, Chhatha, Ramnawami, Shivaratri, Maghi, Rakshyabandhan, Ramajan, Eid etc are the most celebrated festivals in this rural municipality.
Mr. kishun Chandra Chaudhari and Mrs. Shanta Devi Gyawali are the chairman and vice chairman of the Suddhodhan rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Manpakadi, Rupandehi.
