Sanni Tribeni rural municipality is situated in the western part of the Kalikot district. Existing VDCs such as Raku, Mehalmudi and Mumra, were combined in Sanni Tribeni rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 136.71 square kilometers and is divided into 9 wards. Rashkot municipality lies in the east of Sanni Tribeni rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Naraharinath rural municipality in the west, Bajura district in the north and Khandachakra municipality in the south. The geography of this rural municipality is steep slopes with high mountain and cold weather. Sanni Tribeni rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 12846 consisting male population 6378 and female population of 6468 as of Census of Nepal 2011. There are 2105 households in Sanni Tribeni rural municipality.

Bam, Shahi, Singh, Brahmin, Chhetri, Dalit, Janajatietc are some of the major caste groups who reside in this rural municipality and celebrates Dashain, Tihar, Magheshakranti, Ramnawami, Baishakepurnima, Janaipurnima, Teej, Holi, Loshar etc. festivals in a friendly manner. Majority of people speak nepali language. All the residential of this rural municipality are engaged in agriculture & livestock farming too. Mr. Dambar Bahadur Sahi and Mrs. Hoija Kumari Budha (Giri) are the chairman and vice chairman of the Sanni Tribeni rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Mehalmudi, Kalikot.
