Sakhuwanankar Katti Rural Municipality is situated at south-east part of Siraha district, Province number two. This Rural Municipality was established in 2073 B.S. by combining then Mauwahi, Sothiyan, Mahadev Portaha, Sakhuwankar Katti and Itharwa Rural Municipalities. This local unit is divided into five wards. This is surrounded by Laxmipur Patari Rural Municipality from west, Lahan Municipality from north, Nawarajpur and Bhagwanpur Rural Municipalis from south and Saptari district from west.
