Runtigadhi rural municipality
Runtigadhi rural municipality is situated in the southern part of the Rolpa district. Adjoining VDCs such as Jhenam, Sakhi, Jaulipokhari, Masina, Dubring, Jedbang and Dubidada, were combined in Runtigadhi rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 232.69 square kilometers and is divided into 9 wards. Rolpa municipality and Sunilsmriti rural municipality lies in the east of Runtigadhi rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Dang and Sallyaan district in the west, Communityni rural municipality in the north and Dang and Pyuthan district in the south. The geography of this rural municipality is composed of steep slopes and high mountain. Runtigadhi rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 27929 consisting male population 12453 and female population of 15476 according to National Population Census of Nepal 2011. There are 5684 households in Runtigadhi rural municipality.
As per the ancient tale, the famous Mahaprabhu were born and meditate in this holy place and named is based in his name as Rantigadhi. Majority of People belong to Magar Community followed by Brahaman, Chhetri, Thakuri, Sanyasi, Kaami, Damai, Sarki, Ghartietc. Hindus, Buddhists, Christian etc. resides celebrating Dashain, Tihar, Janaipurnima, Chandi Purnima, Buddhajayanti, Maghesarankti, Christmas festivals in a friendly manner. Nepali & Magar language is most spoken languages of this rural municipality. Panchebaja, Sorathi, Kaura, Sarangi Naach, Mayur Naach, Jhyaure, Balan, Chudkaetc are the cultural programs of this rural municipality. Paddy, Wheat, Corn, Mustard, Grain and various cash crops also harvest in this rural municipality. And people of this rural municipality also engaged in livestock business also and some are in abroad for foreign employment also.
Mr. Balaram Budha and Mrs. Chhamaya Pun are the chairman and vice chairman of the Runtigadhi rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Jhenam, Rolpa.
