Raptisonari rural municipality is located in the middle part of the Banke district. Existing VDCs such as Khaskusma, kachanapur, Baijapur, Binauna, Phattepur and Mahadevpuri, were combined in Raptisonari rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 1041.73 square Kilometers and is divided into 9 wards. Dang district lies in the east of Raptisonari rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Kohalpur municipality and Duduwa rural municipality in the west, Dang and Sallyan district in the north and Narainapur rural municipality and India in the south.
