Ramaroshan Rural Municipality is located at Achham district of Sudur Pashim province. It was established in 2073 B.S. by combining then Matalikot, Chafamandu, Shantada, Batulashain, Ramaroshan, Bhatakatiya and Sutan Village Development Committees. It has been divided into seven wards each to previous VDCs. It covers mountain and hilly areas of north side Achham. This Rural Municipality was named after the two large grounds Rama and Roshan. This Rural Municipality has been covered by Kalikot district at east, Mangalsen Municipality and Bannigadhi Jayagadh Rural Municipality at west, Mellekh Rural Municipality and Bajura District at north and Panchaldev Vinayak Municipality at south.
Total area of Ramaroshan Rural Municipality is 173.33 kilometer square, out of which nearly 7% is covered by forest and butanes area, 54% by agricultural land and remaining with residents, hills and rocks. There are 42 community and other forests in this local unit. The population is 29,623 with 4357 households as per the census of 2011. There are more than 8 ethnic groups residing in this local unit among them Chhetri is major population with 62.08% followed by Brhamin and Kami. Nepali is the major language which is spoken by 95% people. There are 85 educational institutions. Agriculture and animal husbandry are the major occupations of this area.
Mr. Jhankar Bahadur Saaud is Chairperson and Ms. Saraswati Rawal is Vice-chairperson of Ramaroshan Rural Municipality. 37 local representatives were elected in last local election within this Rural Municipality. Ward number 5 is center of this local unit.
