Putha Uttarganga rural municipality is situated in the mid part of the Rukum district. Then VDCs, Ranmamaikot, Hukam, Jang, Taksera, Kol and Ransi, were combined in Putha Uttarganga rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 560.34 square kilometers and is divided into 14 wards. Baglung district lies in the east of Putha Uttarganga rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Sisne rural municipality in the west, Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve in the north and Bhoome rural municipality in the south. The geography of this rural municipality steeply and high mountain. Putha Uttarganga rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 17932 consisting male population 8512 and female population of 9420 according to the national population census of Nepal 2011. There are 3861 households in Putha Uttarganga rural municipality.
Chhetri, Brahaman, Thakuri, Dalit, Magar, Newaretc reside in this rural municipality. Dashain, Tihar, Janaipurnima, Chandi Purnima, Buddhajayanti, Maghesarankti, Holi, etc festivals in a friendly manner. Nepali is the most spoken languages of this rural municipality. Paddy, Wheat, Corn, Mustard, Grain and various cash crops also harvest in this rural municipality. People of this rural municipality also engaged in livestock business also and some are in abroad for foreign employment also.
Mr. Om Prasad Gharti and Mrs. Om Kumari sahi Malla are the chairman and vice chairman of the Putha Uttarganga rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Taksera, Rukum.
