Pipara Rural Municipality is situated at south-west part of Mahottari district, Province two. This Rural Municipality was established at 2073 B.S. by combining then Pipara, Sahodawa, Banauli Danauti, Ratouli and Ekrahiya Village Development Committees. This local unit is surrounded by Dhanusa district from west, Loharpatti Municipality from north, Matihani Municipality from south and Ekdanra Rural Municipality from east. This local unit is divided into seven wards. This local unit is 8 kilometer west to Janakpur city.
As per the census 2011, total population of Pipara Rural Municipality is 35,524 which cover 6,490 households. Population of female is 17,799 and male is 17,725.
