Bihadi Rural Municipality is situated at south-west part of Parbat district, Gandaki province. This Rural Municipality was established in 2073 B.S. It combines then Bachchha, Barrachour, Ranipani, Bahaki Thanti, Uram Pokhara and Saligram Village Development Committees. This Rural Municipality is surrounded by Modi Rural Municipality and Kushma Municipality from east, Myagdi district from from west and north and Myagdi and Baglung districts from south. This is named after Bihadi village. This local unit is divided into 6 wards. Kaligandaki River flows through this area.
Population of Bihadi Rural Municipality is 13,403 as per the census 2011. It covers 44.8 kilometer square area. Most of the land is covered by forest followed by grass area, farming area. Local government has prioritized agriculture, energy and tourism sectors. Brahmin, Magar, Gurung and Dalit are major ethnic groups. Nepali is major language. Farming is major occupation of people followed by foreign employment and service. Paddy, maize, wheat, barley and millet are major crops that are cultivated along with different vegetables and fruits. Animal husbandry is also substituting occupation, cow, buffalo, goat and poultry farming are being professionalized these days. This is connected by road network and most of the people have access to electricity. Decreased population because of migration is among major challenge of this area.
