Pachaljharana rural municipality is situated in the mid part of the Kalikot district. Existing VDCs such as Nanikot, Ramnakot and badalkot, were combined in Pachaljharana rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 166.91 square kilometers and is divided into 9 wards. Palata rural municipality lies in the east of Pachaljharana rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Raskot municipality in the west, Bajura district in the north and Khadachakra municipality in the south. The geography of this rural municipality is steep slopes with high mountain and cold weather. Pachaljharana rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 12343 consisting male population 6260 and female population of 6083 as of Census of Nepal 2011. There are 2002 households in Pachaljharana rural municipality.
The name of this rural municipality is based on the 381 Mtr. height waterfalls named Pachaljharana. This rural municipality is famous in religious as well as tourism aspects. Sejuwal, Rokaya, Kathayat, Brahmin, Chhetri, Dalit, Janajatietc are some of the major caste groups who reside in this rural municipality and celebrates Dashain, Tihar, Magheshakranti, Ramnawami, Baishakepurnima, Janaipurnima, Teej, Holi, Loshar etc. festivals in a friendly manner. Majority of people speak nepali language. All the residential of this rural municipality are engaged in agriculture & livestock farming too.
Mr. Khadgaraj Sejuwal and Mrs. Tara Neupane are the chairman and vice chairman of the Pachaljharana rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Jajarkot, Kalikot.
