Nisi Khola Rural Municipality is situated at south-east part of Baglung district, Gandaki province. This Rural Municipality was established in 2073 B.S. It combines then Devisthan, Boharo Gaun, Nisi and Rajkut Village Development Committees. This Rural Municipality is surrounded by Dhorpatan Rural Municipality from east, Rolpa district from west, Dhorpatan Hunting Area and Rukum district from north and Badigad Municipality and Rukum district from south. This is named after Nisi Khola river flowing through this area. This local unit is divided into 7 wards.

Population of Kathe Khola Rural Municipality is 23,325 covering 4,896 households as per the census 2011. Population of female is 13,047 and male is 10,278. Ward number two is most populated ward. This local unit covers 244.37 kilometer square area. Most of the land is covered by forest and farming area followed by grass area, mountain rocks and residence. There are about 16 ethnic groups residing under this local unit. Among them Magar constitute largest population with 30% followed by Kami, Chhetri and Brahman. Most of the people (83%) speak Nepali language followed by Magar and Kham. As farming is major occupation, pocket area for Millet, paddy and maize has been determined in this Rural Municipality. Professional goat, poultry and bee farming has been also started along with vegetables and fruits. Foreign employment and service are other sources of income.
