Navadurga Rural Municipality is situated at north-east part of Dadeldhura district, Sudur Paschim province. it was established in 2073 B.S. by combining then Koteli, Manilek, Navadurga and Belapur Village Development Committees. It is surrounded by Doti district at east, Amargadhi Municipality at west and south, Baitadi district at north. It is named after Hindu goddess Navadurga whose temple is situated at ward number three. It is divided into five wards. It is high altitude mountain area of west Nepal.
Total population of Navadurga Rural Municipality is 19,957 which cover 4,132 households. Population of female is 11,354 and male is 8,631. Ward number two is most populated ward followed by ward number one and four. Almost half of the population has access to electricity. Almost all people speak Doteli language. About twenty three ethnic groups resides here, out of them Chhetri are most populated ethnic group covering 57% followed by Kami and Brahmin. Literacy rate is 60.52%. This local level covers the area of 145.13 kilometer square. Most of the land is occupied by forest, mountain rocks and grass. Agriculture and animal husbandry are major occupations here. Youths are also attracted to foreign employment also.

Manilek village ward number two is the center of this Rural Municipality. Total number of employees working in this local level is 20.
