Modi Rural Municipality is situated at north-east part of Parbat district, Gandaki province. This Rural Municipality was established in 2073 B.S. It combines then Bhuktangle, Deupur, Deurali, Kyang, Bajung, Tilahar, Ramja Deurali and Chitre Village Development Committees. This Rural Municipality is surrounded by Kaski district from east, Kushma Municipality and Jaljala Rural Municipality from west, Myagdi and Kaski districts from north and Kushma Municipality from south. This is named after Modi river flowing through this area. This local unit is divided into 8 wards.

Population of Modi Rural Municipality is 21,284 as per the census 2011. Population of female is 12,002 and male is 9,282. It covers 143.59 kilometer square area. Most of the land is covered by forest followed by grass area, farming area. There are about ten ethnic groups residing under this local unit. Most of the people speak Nepali language. Brahmin, Chhetri, Gurung, Magar and Dalit are major ethnic groups residing under this local unit. Hindu is major religion. Farming is major occupations of people residing here followed by service and foreign employment. Paddy, wheat, maize, millet and barley are crops cultivated along with different vegetables and fruits. Professional farming has been also started. This is connected by road network and most of the people have access to electricity.

Mr. Prem Sharma Poudel is Chairperson and Ms. Seti Mahat is Vice-chairperson of Modi Rural Municipality. Total number of local representatives is 42. Patichaur village is the center of this local unit. Number of employees working under this local unit is 46.
