The geographical area of Miklajung Rural Municipality is 166.61 sq km. It has a population of 24715 according to census 2011. This rural municipality has eight wards. It was formed by merging six VDCs. It is surrounded by Phakphokthum and Mangsebung gaunpalika in the east and Chaubise and Tumwewa gaunpalika in the west and Kummayak, Phalgunanda and Tumwewa gaunpalika in the north and Mangsebung, Chulachuli and Milkajung gaunpalika in the south. The headquarter of this municipality is situated in Rabi.

Among all, 55 percent population are of limbu ethnicity. The natural beauty and the sacred shrines are making this place potential for tourism. Here is one radio station on operation. Here is also a good number of educational institutions as well. One campus, 11 secondary school, 45 intermediate schools and 45 Early Childhood Development centers (ECDs) are actively operating.

The Chairperson and Vice chairperson this rural municipality are Amirraj Makhim and Urmila Rai respectively.
