Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality situates east part of the Ramechhap district. Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality was formed by combining than Duragaun, Saipu, Bijulikot, Naghdaha, Khimti, and Tiplung VDCs. The Rural municipality has total area of 124.51 square kilo meter and is divided into 7 wards. Okhaldhunga district lies in eastern boarder of Likhu Tamakoshi rural municipality, Manthali rural municipality and Gokulganga rural municipality lies in western part of this rural municipality, Manthali rural municipality and Ramechhap municipality cover southern border of Likhu Tamakoshi rural municipality and Dolakha district, Gokulganga rural municipality and Umakunda rural municipality come in northern border of Likhu Tamakoshi rural municipality.  The geography of this Rural municipality includes steep hills and cold weather. The total population of the municipality is 23,109 consisting male population 10,165 and female population of 12,494 as of Census of Nepal 2011. There are 4,928 households in Likhu Tamakoshi rural municipality. The name ‘Likhu Tamakoshi’ is combination of  famous ‘Likhu River’ and ‘Tamakoshi River’

Likhu Tamakoshi municipality is the place of indigenous group, mostly Tamang, Sunuwar, Bramin, Chhetri, Newar. This rural municipality is historical and touristic place with very religious and natural attraction. The place is made of with some rocky and steep mountain.

Mr. Govinda Bahadur Khadka and Mrs. Dipshikha Neupane Dahal are the Chairman and the Vice chairman of the Likhu Tamakoshi rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Dhobibazar, Ramechhap.
