Kushe rural municipality is located in the middle west part of the Jajarkot district. Existing VDCs such as Talegaun, Archhani, Dhime, Penk, and Pajaru (1 & 2), were combined in Kushe rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 273.97 square Kilometers and is divided into 9 wards. Nalghad municipality and Bheri municipality lies in the east of Kushe rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Junichade rural municipality in the west, Barekot rural municipality in the north and Chhedagad municipality in the south. Kushe rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 20621 consisting male population 10407 and female population of 10214 as of Census of Nepal 2011. There are 3590 households in Kushe rural municipality.
This rural municipality lies from 1075-meter height to 4388-meter height from the sea level. Sarughad and Chaiyaghad are the major water-base area located in this rural municipality. Valuable herbals and stone Kinite Turmalin can be found. This rural municipality is the place of about extinct Red Panda. The name is after the famous place as well as the border of Jumla and Jajarkot Kuse Patan. This is the special area for fruits production. Orange is the major fruit which is produced in this rural municipality. Hindu, Buddhist and Christian are the major ethnic group of this rural municipality. Brahamin, Shahi, Newar, Damai, Kami, are major community inhabitant in this rural municipality. People’s major source of income is agriculture, fruits cultivation, and livestock farming. Dashain, Tihar, Budhha Purnima, Loahasar are the major festivals people do celebrate in this rural municipality.
Mr. Harichandra Basnet and Mrs. Ramchhaya Kumari Shahi are the chairman and vice chairman of the Kushe rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Tharpubhram, Jajarkot.
