The geographical area of Kanepokhari Rural Municipality is 82.83 sq km. It has a population of 38033 according to census 2011. This rural municipality has seven wards. It was formed by merging three former VDCs. The headquarter of this municipality is situated in Bayarban bazaar.
They named after the Kanepokhari pond situated in this rural municipality. Commercial production of the agricultural product is the main source of income for people living here.
The Chairperson and Vice chairperson this rural municipality are Tara Bahadur Kaphle and Rajmati Ingnam respectively.
