Kalikamai Rural Municipality is situated at mid-south part of Parsa district, Province number two. This Rural Municipality was established in 2074 B.S. by combining then Parshurampur, Hariharpur Birta, Binrachirwarwa, Mudali and Vediyari Village Development Committees. This local unit is surrounded by Pokhariya Municipality from east, Dhobni Rural Municipality from west, Pakahamainpur Rural Municipality from south and Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality from north. This local unit is divided into five wards. This unit is named after Kalikamai temple which is located here. This local unit is at 20 kilometer west to Birgunj city.

Total population of this Rural Municipality is 21,131 with 3,180 households as per the census 2011. Population of male is 11,908 and female is 10,801. Ward number one is most populated ward.
