Situated towards the southern part of Dhadhing district, Kailash Rural Municipality was formed by combining five then VDCs, Dadakharka, Kalikatar, Gogane, Bharta and Naamtar. The Rural municipality has total area of 204.48 square kilo meter and is divided ten wards. Some part of Dhading District is connected with northern of Kailash Rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Raksirang Rural Municipality from west, Raksirang Rural Municipality, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City & Bhimfedi Rural Municipality from south, Bhimfedi Rural Municipality & Thaha Municipality from east and Dhading District from north. The geography of this Rural municipality includes steep hills as well as plain lands.
Kailash Rural Municipality has total population of 23,922 (male 11,943 & female 11,979) as of Census of Nepal 2011. Kailash Rural Municipality was turned into rural municipality when fulfilling the requirement of the new constitution of 2015. This Rural municipality has 4,263 households. Basically Brahaman, Chhetri, Lama, Kaami, Damai, Newar, etc resides in this Rural Municipality. And they celebrate festivals like Dashain, Tihar, Buddha Purnima. Lohsar, Krishnajanmastami, etc. Agriculture is the major source of occupation of this Rural Municipality.
The center of this newly formed rural municipality is situated in Kalikatar. Mr. Tanka Bahadur Moktan is the Chairman of this rural municipality and Mrs. Sukamaya Thing is Vice-chairman. Source: https://kailashmun.gov.np/
