Hima rural municipality is situated in the  western part of the Jumla district. Existing VDCs such as Badki, kalikakhetu and Mahabaipatharkhola, were combined in Hima rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 132.31 square Kilometers and is divided into 7 wards. Tila rural municipality lies in the east of Hima rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Kalikot district in the west, Sinja rural municipality in the north and Kalikot district in the south. The geography of this rural municipality is steep slopes with high mountain and cold weather. Hima rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 10553 consisting male population 5223 and female population of 5330 as of Census of Nepal 2011. There are 1713 households in Hima rural municipality.

This rural municipality is quite backward in physical infrastructure, development of roadways, availability of telecommunication but its rich in natural resources. Rokaya, Shahi, Rawat, Rawal, Brahmin, Chhetri, Dalit, Janajatietc reside in this rural municipality and celebrates Dashain, Tihar, Magheshakranti, Ramnawami, Baishakepurnima, Janaipurnima, Teej, Holi, Loshar etc. festivals in a friendly manner. Majority of people speak nepali language. All the residential of this rural municipality are engaged in agriculture & livestock farming too. The atmosphere & climate of this rural municipality is healthy & good.

Mr. Raj Bahadur Sahi and Mrs. Himali Rokaya are the chairman and vice chairman of the Hima rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Kalikakhetu, Jumla.
