Guthichaur rural municipality is situated in the eastern part of the Jumla district. Existing VDCs such as Guthichaur, Gajryaankot and Depalgaun, were combined in Guthichaur rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 427 square Kilometers and is divided into 5 wards. Dolpa district lies in the east of Guthichaur rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Tatopani rural municipality and Chandranath municipality in the west, Patarasi rural municipality in the north and Jajarkot district in the south. The geography of this rural municipality is steep slopes with high mountain and cold weather. Guthichaur rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 9870 consisting male population 4867 and female population of 5003 as of Census of Nepal 2011. There are 1848 households in Guthichaur rural municipality.
Budha, Karki, Rawat, Rokaya, Brahmin, Chhetri, Dalit, Janajati etc reside in this rural municipality and celebrates Dashain, Tihar, Magheshakranti, Ramnawami, Baishakepurnima, Janaipurnima, Teej, Holi, Loshar etc. festivals in a friendly manner. Majority of people speak nepali language. All the residential of this rural municipality are independent in agriculture and also engaged in livestock farming too. The atmosphere & climate of this rural municipality is healthy & good.
Mr. Hari Bahadur Bhandari and Mrs. Jaan Devi Yedi are the chairman and vice chairman of the Guthichaur rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Dhawalmudi, Jumla.
