Gurans rural municipality is situated in the southern part of the Dailekh district. VDCs such as Khadkabada, Baraha, Seri, Goganpani, Piladi, and Lalikanda, were combined in Gurans rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 164.78 square kilometers and is divided into 8 wards. Surkhet district lies in the east of Gurans rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Achham district in the west, Dungeshowr rural municipality and Dullu municipality in the north and Surkhet district in the south.
