Ghiring Rural Municipality is situated at south-west part of Tanahu district, Gandaki province. This Rural Municipality was established in 2073 B.S. by combining then Gajarkot, Ghising Sundhara, Sajhung Bhagwatipur, Majhkot and Ramjakot Village Development Committees. This is divided into five wards. This Rural Municipality is surrounded by Rising Rural Municipality from east, Palpa and Syangja districts from west, Bhimad Municipality and Syangja district from north and Nawalparasi and Palpa districts from south.

As per the census 2011, total population of Ghiring Rural Municipality is 19,318 with 4,137 households. Population of female is 11,093 and male is 8,225. Ward number four is most populated ward. There are about twenty ethnic communities residing under this Rural Municipality out of them, Magar constitute largest population with 50.75% followed by Kami and Kumal. As 47.98% people speak Magar, it is largest mother tongue followed by Nepali and Newari. 67.52% people are literate. Most of the people are involved in agriculture followed by foreign employment. This covers total area of 126 kilometer square. Most of the land is covered by forest and farming area. Paddy, maize, millet and wheat are major crops along with different vegetables and fruits.

Mr. Ran Bahadur Rana is Chairperson and Ms. Saraswati Ghimire Sigdel is Vice-chairperson of Ghiring Rural Municipality. Pokharichhap village is the center of this Rural Municipality. Total number of elected local representatives is 27. Number of employees working under this local level unit is 19.
