Gaidahawa rural municipality is located in the southern part of the Rupandehi district. VDCs such as Suraypura, Jogada, Shadi and Bishnupura, were combined in Gaidahawa rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 96.79 square kilometers and is divided into 9 wards. Soddhodhan and mayadevi rural municipality lies in the east of Gaidahawa rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Kapilbastu district in the west, Kanchan rural municipality and Sainamaina municipality in the north and Lumbini saskritik municipality in the south. The geography of this rural municipality includes plan fertile land. Gaidahawa rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 47565 consisting male population 23730 and female population of 23835 according to the National Population Census of Nepal 2011. There are 7285 households in Gaidahawa rural municipality.

The name of this rural municipality is based upon the Gaudahawa Lake situated at Bishnupura. Maximum madheshi people reside in this rural municipality. Festivals like Dashain, Tihar, Janaipurnima, Teej, Chhatha, Holi, Buddhajayanti, Moharam, Christmas, Eid etc are celebrated in this rural municipality. Most of the household individuals are engaged in agriculture businesses as well as livestock & mushroom farming. The main crops are Paddy, Wheat, Corn, Mustard, and Potato etc. Maximum madheshi people reside in this rural municipality.

Mr. Bachhu Kewat (Bachhulal) and Mrs. Shubhawati Yadav are the chairman and vice chairman of the Gaidahawa rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Bishnupura, Rupamdehi.
