Duduwa rural municipality is located in the southern part of the Banke district. Existing VDCs such as Holiya, Betahani, Bankatti, Hiraminiya and Kamdi, were combined in Duduwa rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 91.09 square Kilometers and is divided into 6 wards. Raptisona rural municipality lies in the east of Duduwa rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Nepalganj Sub-Metropolitian city in the west, Kohalpur municipality and Baijanath rural municipality in the north and Narainapur rural municipality and India in the south. The geography of this rural municipality includes plan fertile land. Duduwa rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 37460 consisting male population 19277 and female population of 18183 according the National population census of Nepal 2011. There are 6590 households in Duduwa rural municipality.
The name of this rural municipality is based on the DuduwaKhola flows in this rural municipality. Chhetri, Brahaman, Dalit, Thakuri, Magar, Newar, Madheshi, Muslim etc reside in this rural municipality. Dashain, Tihar, Janaipurnima, Chandi Purnima, Buddhajayanti, Maghesarankti, Holi, Chhatha, Eid, Ramjanetc festivals in a friendly manner. Awadhi, Tharu, Nepali are the most spoken languages of this rural municipality. Paddy, Wheat, Corn, Mustard, Grain and various cash crops also harvest in this rural municipality. People of this rural municipality also engaged in livestock business also and some are in abroad for foreign employment also.
Mr. Narendra Kumar Chaudhari and Mrs. Shahida Bano are the chairman and vice chairman of the Duduwa rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Bankatti, Banke.
