Dhanpalthan

The geographical area of Dhanapalthan Rural Municipality is 70.26 sq km. It has a population of 39394 according to census 2011. This rural municipality has seven wards. It was formed by merging five former VDCs. It is surrounded by Rangeli municipality in the east and Jahada and Katahari gaunpalika in the west and  Katahari and Rangeli in the north and Bihar state of India in the south. The headquarter of this municipality is situated in Sorabhag.     

 Name of this rural municipality is derived from the temple name in this area.

The administrative structure under this rural municipality has six departments. Administrative, Planning and Monitoring Department, Infrastructure Development and Environment Management Department, Health and Social Development Deaprtment, Economic Development Department, Education, Youth and Sports Department, Financial Administrative Department.         

The Chairperson and Vice chairperson this rural municipality are Harilal Singh and Nasima Banu respectively.
