Chure Rural Municipality is located at Kailali district of Sudur Pashim province, Nepal. Chure rural municipality was formed by combining then Sahajpur, Nigali and Khairala VDCs. This Rural Municipality was formed as per the decision of Government of Nepal on 2073/11/28 BS. Chure Rural Municipality is located at the north side of Kailali district. Joraayal Rural Municipality lies In the north boarder of this Rural Municipality, Mohanyal Rural Municipality and Doti district at east, Badikedar Rural Municipality at south and at west Godawari Municipality and Dadeldhura District.
Total area of this Rural Municipality is 493.18 square kilo meter, out of which maximum land is occupied by mountains and forests followed by farm and residence. Totak household number in this local level unit is 3,478. It covers the mountain area and name was kept after chure mountain range. There are six wards and as per the census of 2011 total population of this rural municipality is 22320. Brahmin, Chhetri, Magar and Dalits are mojor ethnic groups living in this Rural Municipality.
Farming and animal husbandry are major occupations of this rural municipality. As it lacks fertile land and irrigation facility, vegetables and fruits are major crops rather than food crops.
Mr. Dhan Bahadur Roka Magar is Chairman of this Rural Municipality and Ms. Deepa Devi Soud is Vice-chairman. Headquarter of this Rural Municipality is located at Sahajupur.
