Chankheli rural municipality is situated in the eastern part of the Humla district. VDCs such as Darma, Mimi, Shreemastha, Mechham and Gothi, were combined in Chankheli rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 1310.41 square kilo meter and is divided into 6 wards. Mugu district lies in the east of Chankheli rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Sarkegadha rural municipality in the west, Kharpunath rural municipality in the north and Mugu district and Sarkegadha rural municipality in the south. The geography of this rural municipality is steep and high mountain with cold weather.
