Banfikot rural municipality is sittuated in the mid part of the Rukum (west) district. VDCs such as, Pipal, Banfikot, Jhula, Magma and Duli, were combined in Banfikot rural municipality. The Rural municipality has total area of 190.41 square Kilometers and is divided into 10 wards. Dang district lies in the east of Banfikot rural municipality. Similarly, this rural municipality is surrounded by Sanibheri rural municipality and Aathbiskot municipality in the west, Aathabiskot municipality in the north and Musikot and Sanibheri rural municipality in the south. Banfikot rural municipality has the total population of the municipality is 18696 consisting male population 8713 and female population of 9983 as of Census of Nepal 2011. There are 3747 households in Banfikot rural municipality.
Pun, Gharti, Magar, Bista, Bahun, Chhetri, Dalit, Janajatietc are some of the major caste and ethnic groups who reside in this rural municipality and celebrates Dashain, Tihar, Magheshakranti, Ramnawami, Baishakepurnima, Janaipurnima, Teej, Holi, Loshar etc. festivals in a friendly manner. Mother tongue is Nepali language. All the residential of this rural municipality are engaged in agriculture & livestock farming too. Mr. Dharma Bahadur KC and Mrs. Mankala Pun are the chairman and vice chairman of the Banfikot rural municipality. The rural municipality office is situated in Banfikot, Rukum(west).
