The geographical area of Aathraitribeni Rural Municipality is 88.83 sq km. It has a population of 13784 according to census 2011. This rural municipality has five wards. It was formed by merging four former VDCs. It is surrounded by Yangwarak gaunpalika and Panchthar district in the east and Mauwakhola gaunpalika in the west and Phungling municipality in the north and Tehrathum district in the south. The headquarter of this municipality is situated in Hangpang.

After being the independent local body, Aathrai Tribeni Gaupalika  providing various kinds of local government services such as Vital Registration (Birth, Death, Marriage, Migration, and Divorce), transportation, social security, land registration, Water Resource, and Irrigation, Science and Technology, Youth and Sports, Forestry, Agricultural and Livestock Development, land registration, urban planning, finest utilization of local resources, education (Basic and Secondary), local level development projects, Communication and Information Technology, Social Welfare distribution, tax collection, Health, and Population related service.

People here are lured by the production of black cardamom that is making more money than regular crops, so farmers are shifting their production of crops that make cash more for them. Local business is also booming in this area.

The Chairperson and Vice chairperson this rural municipality are Bishwonath Sitaula and Manju Poudyal Bhattarai respectively.
